Retro - SASSARI

Would not have gone in here had it not been highly recommended by our b&b host. It was quite late in the evening, we needed a bite to eat and as outside tables were full we went inside. First thing we noticed was the harsh light given by the old type of long life bulbs killing any sense of warmth or ambience. The restaurant was half empty but we had to wait some time to order. Although the table next to us ordered about 15 minutes after us, their pizzas arrived first. Several take aways also came and went, still we waited. To rub salt in the wound, one of the take away customers came back with his empty boxes and ours still had not arrived. We asked what had happened and we were given some excuse about the oven being too hot. When it eventually arrived the food was excellent but our hunger had nearly passed by then as it was nearly 11pm and we had waited over an hour. Only a cursory apology for the delay and when I said it was far too long, she just agreed with me and gave no offer of any discount or free drink! We asked for the bill, that took a while to arrive too!

Retro is a typical pizza place in Italy: simple rustic decor and service, but focused on serving a good pizza. I actually didn't check whether the have a wood oven, but the pizza was definitely good (I had a margherita with artichokes and fresh salsiccia), the house wine was fine, and the price very competitive.

Just great. huge selection of pizza and normal Italian food. but best is the lazy." each vegetarian should come here to try this dish (pincake on basis of cherry flour.) excellent taste. great environment-friendly and friendly service. all too moderate trips. What else can you whistle for?

Bellissimo ristorante in un edificio Liberty nel centro della città, con ottimo cibo e pizza. I proprietari sono giovani e simpatici.

Our first visit to a faine restaurant similar to pizza, but the base is made with chick pea flour. Usual range of toppings and altogether pretty good. Good service, good food and inexpensive.
