Gulf Gate Food Beer - Sarasota

I have been staying in Sarasota for the last three weeks for work. Every time I travel i look for a place exactly like this. An almost dive with excellent food. Well folks, this place hit it out of the park. over a 12 night span, I visited this place 5times! The boneless wings are incredible. I also tried every burger on the menu over this stretch (besides the basic) and allwere great. My personal favorite was the down the hatch. As the name implies, the beer selection is great too! Was the perfectplace to come have a few pints and dinner after a long day of work. I've never written a a review before but this place was sogood I felt compelled.

Great place! I was looking for a place to watch the Eagles and the Phillies and hopefully grab something to eat. It was after 10pm and my were limited. I happened into Food and Beer by chance and I'm glad I did. It was packed but, Katelyn behind thebar, was attentive and professional. She helped me right away, and my food came out fast. Burger was excellent, cooked just howI ordered it and the fries were legendary. I'll be back for sure. Prices are reasonable too.

While visiting friends in Sarasota, they said we MUST go here. So we did! The drinks were awesome and the food was fantastic. Reasonably priced for what it was. The birria tacos were fantastic. The consomme was good but not your traditional consomme. Ilike the kind I make better lol. They have an arcade in the other half of the bar which is a nice touch. I liked that part quitea bit. Wait staff was fantastic. Friendly, chatty, and efficient. They made it feel like you were the only customer in theplace even though they were BUSY. It has an elevated atmosphere but at the same time, it feels like a dive bar. I say dive barin a GOOD way. Their menu is extensive and can appeal to any kind of person's appetite. This is a MUST VISIT if you're in thearea.

From Ohio and came on a whim and this place is amazing! I recommend the pretzel and the burger! Fries are amazing also! Very clean and staff is very friendly! 10 stars!

It was hard keeping myself to my rule of visiting an establishment 3 times before writing a review. I knew from my first step up the little curb from the right in front parking spot; being greeted enthusiastically by a outdoor dining customer; that Iwas going to like this place. The owner and management very obviously have passion for their restaurant. The staff each timehave been friendly without being obsequious. Knowledgeable. Efficient. The menu is very well designed. Not overwhelming, andoffering unique and comfortable foods for all types of diners. It is quite easy to fall in love with several differentitems! The food... Oh the food. The chef actually gives a *bleep*! Everything we have ordered so far... We are working our waythrough the whole menu... Has been artfully plated. Perfectly cooked. Most importantly DELICIOUS! The fries are hand cut andserved in a paper bag. You shake up the bag upon receipt of it to perfectly season your crispy, hot, potatoes of goodness. Thebag also absorbs excess grease so your fries are not disgusting. It is a BRILLIANT idea! I know I am gushing about something sopedestrian as fries... But when your kitchen puts this kind of effort into something so simple... You know their specialties aregoing to be fantastic! And they are! I could write a thousand more words describing it all... But EFF that! Go! Go try it foryourself! You will be happy you did!
