Left Bank Cafe - Saranac Lake

Greeted promptly at door and seated but waited over 10 minutes for initial service. We both chose a main course which the server then told us they had run out of Beef Bourguignon. We waited another 15 minutes after placing order to receive starters and the excellent bread basket. Meanwhile most other customers were leaving (after 9pm stated closing time). After delivering the main courses our server came to the table three times asking if everything was OK. We felt rushed and not welcome. We then requested the check (no dessert) and took our half consumed bottle of Primitivo back to the hotel. All in all good food quality overshadowed by sense of not being welcome and that we somehow were interfering with the restaurant operations. If the 8:30 booking was indeed too late for the restaurant then they should tell perspective customers that last seating is at 7:30 or 8:00. Not recommended! Food: 4 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 3

We had a fabulous meal tonight and highly recommend this fine dining experience. We had a party of five and the service and food was top notch.
