El Meson De La Cava - Santo Domingo

Now I know how it feels to be the “Caped Crusader”! Very warm welcome to the elevator door, which continues throughout the experience. It took a few minutes to realize that this was an actual cave! They would never know how this place was excavated and designed. Wow. La Cava should be placed on the Dominican Republic Star Attraction list. As soon as you take the elevator down, you will be blown away by the ambience and you will be in a fully functioning cave! Incredible place, very attentive staff, delicious food, romantic environment, dress code enforced, fabulous food experience. Definitely a high class, five stars, super clean decor!

I was blown away by this amazing restaurant. The food was top-notch, with high-quality dishes and exceptional service. The restaurant is set in a beautiful cave with cave-style decorations, adding to the overall charm. I tried the steak from the chef's selection, while my partner ordered the grouper. It may be a bit pricey, but the experience is well worth it. A must-visit for anyone in Santo Domingo.

We had a reservation for 8 people on the terrace. We took the elevator down and I was impressed by the restaurant. We were not happy with the initial table we were seated at, so I requested to be moved. The staff responded immediately and found us a better table. Our waiter was excellent. Despite being busy, he was very friendly and attentive throughout our meal, even when our food took a while to arrive. He also impressed us with his ability to split the bill accurately. Our cocktails and appetizers arrived quickly, but as the restaurant got busier, our mains took longer to be served. I absolutely loved the fried calamari and had to order a second serving. The cocktails were tasty, with my favorite being the paradise. Unfortunately, the restaurant was out of the paella I was hoping to try, but my friends and I all enjoyed our dishes. I ordered the seafood linguine and it was fantastic. The desserts were delicious. The atmosphere was great, the food was delicious, and the staff were friendly. I thoroughly enjoyed my experience!

My family and I visited this restaurant for the first time and we absolutely loved it. The interior is beautiful, resembling a cave. The service and food were excellent. I would highly recommend this restaurant if you are in Santo Domingo.

Awesome place! I really didn’t expect them to have so much going on. Great vibes with History and Great Food! Technically this is a 3 in 1 restaurant. There’s a terrace type of lounge with Karaoke on the 3rd Floor where you enter. Next another patio area with music on the second first floor just as casual as the other. And finally there’s the nicer restaurant inside the cave for finer dining. Just simply beautiful to be inside of something of such ancient history. The staff was super friendly and extremely attentive. Food was a bit slow but I expected that considering how busy it was. So get appetizers (they come out fast). The main dish was soooo delicious! I will be back. Loved it.
