Bidra med feedbackSupposed to be an asian twist on fast food, ie order at counter etc.....but it's really no good at all. I visited the new branch on Conquistadores (San Isidro). The food is not that fast, not that cheap, and not that good. It's not terrible, but there are so many other options that I certainly wont' be returning, and I wouldn't advise you to bother trying out of interest like I did.....
This is a great place to eat quick asian-peruvian food. It's not like a classical restaurant, rather comparable to MacDonalds: You order your food at the entrance and wait for the food to be finished. It is not brought to the tables. The kitchen is in the same room as the tables. Every once in a while you can see a flash of fire rising from one of the woks :)They have regular menus like spicy chicken, arroz chaufa, lomo saltado but you can also create your own wok menu by chosing the base food (rice, tallarín, noodles, etc) and different ingredients. The food is quite cheap, you can get a lomo saltado for S. 24.50, most offers are between 15 and 20 soles.I ordered a spicy chicken wok with rice and hoisin sauce. The food was brilliant, strongly recommended.
We went there last Saturday, we actually got there by chance. We were 3 my husband, my son and I. The place is small but decorated in a very modern way I really liked it, though I have to say the air conditioning was too low it was freezing!Regarding the food I can only say DELICIOUS, everything was so tasty and fresh that Im definitely going back. I order tge spicy chicken which was amazing and not so spicy, my husband ordered some kind of noodles with beef and vegetables and he adored it! The prices also good, we spent 52 soles for 3 dishes and 2 sodas.
I was craving Asian food (not Chifa) that was a reasonable price, and after a quick Google search I found out that Vivawok was not far from home, a mid-range restaurant, and an Asian fusion type place. We were excited to try the food, and had high hopes. While Vivawok did not blow us away, it was a nice experience fuera de lo común. The first thing that set me back when we got there, was outside they were promoting specials of the day for a certain price, so when I tried to order that, I was told it was only until 5pm. I ended up ordering that dish anyways (Spicy Chicken) and my husband got Arroz Chaufa con Langostinos y Pollo. I loved that everything was cooked fresh, and from the best ingredients, and the presentation was nice as well...very colorful with lots of veggies! However, my husband's serving was small enough to be an appetizer (by Peruvian standards), and it wasn't enough food for the price. The spicy chicken wasn't super spicy (like I was hoping for!), but it did have a great flavor. I'd suggest Vivawok for people who are craving Asian flavor, and willing to spend a little more than average. For both of us to eat + a soda, it was right under 40 soles... nearly double what we usually spend when we eat out! The restaurant was very clean, modern feeling, and not as busy as other places at 7pm on a weeknight! Also to note, you order at the counter when you walk in, then sit and wait for your name to be called and go get your food. Knowing this, I don't think the higher prices really justify the quality/service that you get.
We went without having a concrete idea about what the place exactly was like. But when we arrived it was much better than we expected! Starting from the fun decoration of the place to the entire experience from the beginning to the end of our lunch. It is so good to have this kind of fusion-asian food after so visiting all these 'chifas' restaurants around Lima. My girlfriend wanted only veggies and I was looking for something spicy that had no pork (two things hard to find in chifas restaurants in Peru), and they offered great and delicious options! The staff is really helpful and I'm already looking forward to go back again! Two thumbs up for vivawok!
