Dairy Queen - Santee

The place smelled like bleach. The dude who made my ice cream picked his eye and then without washing his hand put his fingers on the 4 dollar ice cream cone. So needless to say on my way to my car I threw my ice cream cone in the trash because thats disgusting.

This place is a pigsty. The tables don't get cleaned by the staff. People were cleaning their own tables. The counter they put your ice cream on hadn't been wiped what seemed like since they opened. There was melted ice cream and crumbs. The fabric on the back of the chairs are very dirty. Service, well, no one ahead of us, and it took awhile to even be acknowledged. Three people behind the counter and not one of them greeted us. Same thing happened last week. They were more interested in their conversation than taking my order. One of the doors was locked and people kept trying to use it. No sign that it was broke or to use the other door. Was this laziness to not unlock it? The ice cream was good though.

I have been craving a shake for at least a week and kept talking myself out of having one. Today I was in this parking lot and kept staring at the big DQ sign and lost my will power! There is plenty of parking close by, it is located in a strip mall that is well maintained. The building is clean and the dining area has plenty of tables. I had to have a peanut butter/Chocolate shake. The very pleasant young lady at the counter took my order and had my drink to me very quickly.....It was great. Just what I had been craving. As I said the young lady was very nice and helpful, I spoke to a couple of the staff while I was there and all were equally nice and helpful. The drink was great but the strongpoint here is the staff......The Best!!!!!!!

Like the dipped in chocolate cone, but im so let down, that DQ in CA serves only desserts. In NV they have burgers, chicken tender. Etc.:
