The Gables - Santa Monica

I visited this new restaurant in November 2018 and was impressed that they had worked out any initial issues. The food, particularly the salmon dish, was a delightful blend of flavors, textures, and fresh ingredients. I appreciated finding a neighborhood spot that was not pretentious, had reasonable prices, and offered excellent service. I enjoyed my dinner so much that I considered coming back the next day for their brunch or lunch options.

It was closed on NYE and open table didn’t notify me

Delicious! A wonderful meal. I got the smoked trout salad and it was delicious. The manager even brought us two glasses of champagne since we were celebrating. Highly recommend!

In a party of six, three of us got stomach bugs from eating here. Multiply that with the fact that one person at our table was given fries with multiple hairs in them, and I don’t think we’ll be going back.

Hits and misses at the Gables... Hits the meat ball app and patty melt both were amazing. Misses were the Brussel Sprouts which were a bit undercooked and bit boring from a taste perspective the real disappointment was the Kale Caesar Salad with Salmon it was the blandest Caesar I've ever had and the ice cold salmon was flavorless It was a healthy portion and I kept thinking if I mixed it a bit more the flavor would come through I should have said something to the waitress but she was a bit overwhelmed at times and I just gave up on the dish. Nice wine selection Perhaps go for the comfort food at the Gables and seek healthier options that also taste good elsewhere ...
