Bidra med feedbackAvoid. eating is ok, but expensive, and they charge an 18 % service fee without notice. I didn't know it was then tipped up, as the card payment system asked for one. my mistake, but this is not the standard in la. we were just a party of two!
Felt like having Mexican food for the first time in a while, thought that since they where in such a spectacular location the food and the service would also be spectacular, but that was not the case on our visit for 2 people this past Sunday night 11/21/21.Iam not one to put a place or person down just to make them look bad but this is what transpired:Started with being seated at our table, they have a large table exactly at the entrance with tortilla chips under a heat lamp and salsa in a large bowl of ice with utensils all over, plastic containers for doggie bags and plastic bags hanging on the wall.Appetizer:Chips and salsachips were cold and not fresh, salsa watered down.Drinks:Margarita Supreme $22, non-alcoholic Strawberry Margarita $8Main Course:Shrimp fajitas $32requested with no cheese,no sour cream. And Vegetable Tostada Salad $22Requested with no cheese, no sour cream. They brought the shrimp fajita with cheese on the red beans and a big blob of sour cream next to the pico de gallo, guacamole and red rice, we called the waiter over to assist us with the issue and to change the red beans to black beans. The waiter took the plate and brought back a bowl of black beans, pico de gallo, guac, and replaced the red rice to white rice for who knows what reason. My husband gave up on asking for assistance from the waiter as to why he made the extra changes, to prevent anyone possible spitting or putting something else in the food for making too much request. His food was tasteless and bland. My Vegetable tostada salad was definitely unique topped with steamed broccoli, cauliflower flower, carrots which I did not care for at all. Under that was lettuce, white rice, black beans, guac, and pico de gallo. After clearing away the steamed veges from the tostada bowl the salad was ok.The main waitress brought our check right after we finished eating still with all our used plates on the table not even asking us if we might want dessert before bringing the check. I looked the bill over $107.74 for very bland not so authentic Mexican Food, not from a cheap point but I was definitely shocked which included a 18% Service charge $15+ change that they automatically put in the bill without notifying you about prior. This place is definitely over priced for no reason. It’s more for tourists who don’t know much about Mexican food.
Nice service but, the only good thing here are the nachos and the salmon. We’ve given them three chances. The tamales are a joke. They don’t tell you they served them drowning in green salsa. They taste like baking soda too. The chicken soup was not good. It had a strong chicken taste and smell because, it’s over cooked. For the prices, it should be gourmet and amazing.
The whole experience was fantastic both times. Need this restaurant in Chicago
I visited Casa Martin a few Sunday's ago for an event, and I must say they didn't disappoint. The food and drinks were amazing, and the atmosphere is energetic. Casa Martin itself is breathtaking, and the employees were so nice. 10 out of 10.
