Visited when walking the Levada do Caniço its a welcome break in either direction. It is located at the foot of the terrible cobble steps leading down to the levada from Camacha. Unfortunately no sandwiches, but a welcome beer or coffee and Apple pie.
This place unfortunately seems to be permanently closed now. We went today for a visit and as we were checking if it 's open or not were told off by a grumpy man and informed that the place is closed-closed. A shame really as the location is great. And as you see from the reply below, he is still quite aggressive. We didn 't want them to open for us, we were just checking, but he came and said go away now , but I understand he 's not fluent in English, so that could be the actual problem.
