La Posta - Santa Cruz

La Posta is always my first choice of a restaurant in Santa Cruz. The food, farm to table, is extraordinarily fresh, innovatively prepared, and utterly delicious. To be honest, I don't spend money on much besides eating out at La Posta! I'm sometimes in here two to three times a week, and it's always phenomenal. This time, my friend and I shared a lovely calamari antipasto. We could taste the subtle grilled preparation, the simple presentation. Then, we shared the pasta with a fresh tomato cream sauce and fresh tomatoes and greens. Yum. Then the sea bass. Delectable, perfectly cooked, plenty of food to share. And of course we couldn't resist the unbelievable chocolate dessert. Sharing allows us to try more dishes and keep the price down, but my friend still had wine, and we were quite full. The service, as always, is warm and attentive and delightful. I truly can never say enough about how good this restaurant really is. If you appreciate subtlety and innovation, but never fussiness, you will love this, my favorite restaurant.

We love your restaurant and dine there about every six months. Last night was the best ever! Erica was a sweet and friendly server and everyone else who helped out was great. We shared both contorni (zucchini and snap peas), as well as the tagliatelle with lamb sausage and the chicken wrapped in prosciutto with the nettle polenta. Every bite just got better than the last! We finished by sharing the lemon ricotta cake with roasted strawberries and the dessert Moscato. Divine. Keep up the good work.

Quaint and friendly atmosphere. Food was outstanding, beautiful presentation with balanced flavor profiles and creative recipes using simple ingredients. We had the seared scallops, farm salad, ravioli verde, gnocchi with pork ragu and the halibut. To drink I had a surprisingly good Dolomiti pilsner that was flowery and crisp, and we also had a Borolo red and a fantastic white I can't recall the name of that was recommended by our server.We were pleasantly surprised and will definitely go back. Oh, they change their menu weekly so expect new dishes.

I made a reservation over a month in advance to request indoor seating and confirmed it. Upon arrival they insisted that I was outside in a parking lot.... Zero ambiance and not dressed for sitting outside in foggy Sant Cruz. They were very glib about it and didn't do anything to make up for it. They finally admitted their mistake when they brought the check. I was so disappointed

Such a beautiful summer menu! La Posta offers consistently creative and high-quality cooking with outstanding seasonal ingredients. Whether you're a local or a visitor, this restaurant is always a treat. The wines are pricey but it's a very nice list and our server was knowledgeable about the options. Great meal, great atmosphere. Thanks!
