Bidra med feedbackLoved this family run restaurant a couple of streets back from the sea. Excellent meals both times. The owner is extremely welcoming and speaks brilliant English. The staff are lovely and service is great. A great experience all round. Be sure to book in advance in summer.
What a wonderful little restaurant. The service was amazing the food was amazing. Can highly recommend this little gem.
Fantastic service and outstanding food. The owner who is the founder’s son is very hospitable and fluent in English. He went out of his way to make us happy, even serving free appetizers! Beautiful, quiet old-style Portuguese restaurant at its best. Awesome good, fair prices and lots of choices for seafood and no seafood fans alike. Don’t miss it!
We stumbled across Salso’s restaurant and whilst debating whether to stop, an English couple told us that the food was excellent. We’re so glad that they did. You’d be mad not to have the fish… sitting outside on a balmy Algarve evening with a cold bottle of Sauvignon Blanc whilst deliberating the difference between an anchovy and a sardine… Salso offered his explanation which was so confusing to us that he offered to get an Anchovy from the catch at the harbour the following day and cook it for us later in the week. We had no idea what to expect as in the UK Anchovies are small fish as opposed to the one in the photo!! He didn’t disappoint, it was spectacular and has reignited our enjoyment of cooking fish. If you’re in the area, be sure to visit, you’ll be pleased that you did. Salso, so sorry it’s taken us a while to write this review and thanks for the chilli’s! Enjoy your winter, friend.
Lovely local restaurant tucked away from the main tourist. We eat out in the street with all the locals which was a lovely change. Hard working Celso is the perfect host. Lovely food and wine. Many thanks
