Bidra med feedbackI am not sure if this business is still open during quarantine, but I hope it is. I've been here two times and both times, the food did not fail to impress. I got their #3 (flat noodle) the first time and #1 (homemade noodle) the second time and I prefer the #1 the more. We ordered roti and it is delicious as well. I love the the coconuty flavor. The size of the restaurant is relatively small but no wait. The service is typical of an Asian business. I'd say that this is some of the best Malaysian food in OC.
I came here especially for their laksa. Born and raised in Singapore, fellow yelpers, please do not doubt my review. Lol. Got the laksa with egg noodles because the menu says handmade. Portion was okay, ingredients were great though still missing with the dried mini shrimps and laksa leaves. I give it a 8/10 because this is the closest i could get in LA that reminds me of home. The egg noodles were like ramen and thin. Broth was a lil sweet. All in all, yes it is worth a trip to drive here. The nasi lemak ayam penyak is a 8/10 too, super close but rice was a lil on the heavy and sticky side. Great dipping chili. All fellow southeast asians, if you're craving home, pop by here.
The Roti Parata was perfectly cripsy and was so good with the mildand flavorful curry. Curry was so good I wanted to drink acup of it. The Hokkiam Mee was also very flavorful. The noodleswere cooked just right. The pork and chicken was tender. Fried shallotswere tasty and crunchy. Had a light and refreshing chocolate Milo drink.Everything overall was really good.
One of my FAVORITE places ever!! I LOOOOVE the borneo hokkien mee and the roti prata!!! Its kind of a place where you can keep coming back and not get tired of it. I think at one point i was coming here once every week... and i only do that with chipotle!
Been here twice now and the food has been awesome each time! Staff are friendly and helpful, and everything is nice and clean. I love the brick interior and simple cultural decorations too.We tried dry noodles and wet noodles, both were delicious. The dry noodles remind me of Vietnamese mi kho where the noodles are seasoned and come with a side of broth. The wet noodles come in a fantastic coconut based broth. If you like Indian curry, which uses coconut milk, you'll definitely like the noodles here. My favorite thing is the texture of the noodles. Because they're made in-house, they are nice and chewy and never over cooked. The roti with curry sauce is a must! Super crispy and flakey, the roti goes perfectly with the savory, yet slightly sweet, curry sauce (also coconut milk based). The chicken satay is very tasty and perfectly cooked. The regular rice comes topped with the same curry sauce from the roti. I definitely want to try the coconut rice next time though.Highly recommended, everything we had was delicious and I'll be coming back for sure!
