Overall, a class restaurant that can be recommended with good conscience. You have to visit Sankt Wendel for every visit! Operation Inattentive, accommodating and very friendly! General A restaurant with special kind ... family environment, very friendly service and food of the top class. Unlimited to recommend! Operation Very attentive, discreet and selected friendly! The Magdalenkapelle is one of my favorite restaurants in St. Wendel and has been shining with consistently good cuisine for years. Family Richter has dedicated himself to the passion of the Slow Food philosophy, mainly uses products from the St. Wendeler country and the nearer region. In addition to typical local and Saarland cuisine, the map also offers Mediterranean cuisine on a walking level. Finding the right wine for good food is not a problem here. The Magdalene Chapel offers an exemplary wine selection; Elke Richter is a learned winemaker and also the father Holger Richter is a wine-winner, on whose recommendation you can trust with confidence. Our food pork chefette with thyme, lemon and garlic marinates potato puree and salad dressing at €13.90 Large colourful salad plate with sheep cheese, olives, peperoni and tomatoes at €9.80 in advance as a greeting from the kitchen a wonderful fresh quartk with chives and tasty airy ciabatta All ingredients were fresh and high quality products from the region, which were handcraftedly transformed by the kitchen master Uschi Richter into a tasty meal. The beetle should have been a little bigger, but it was very marined and, not covering the own taste of the meat, beautifully juicy, tender and tasty, the supplements, self-made puree and the pieces of paprika that were glazed in olive oil, simply excellent. Side salad and salad plate consisted of crisp fresh leaf salad, well tasted with a spicy house dressing, and olives and sheep cheese, whose taste suggests that these ingredients originate from the fresh market. Beverages: a bottle of mineral water 0.7l to 5,00 €, Les Dorades Entre deux Mers 0.1l to 2,30 € and 0.1l Montepulciano d'Abruzzo to 2,80 € Ambience The main access to the restaurant is located in Balduinstrasse, opposite the Basilica. After entering the beautiful baroque building, you get to the conservatory via a slightly winding staircase and from there into the heart of the restaurant, the former Magdalenenkapelle, mentioned for the first time in 1318, in which the relics of St. Wendelinus were temporarily stored until the construction of the neighbouring basilica. The crypt with the Gothic vault is excellently preserved. Here's something to do. In beautiful weather we prefer to sit in the quiet, somewhat devastated, but idyllic garden. One more note: the Magdalenenkapelle is not suitable for wheelchairs. Free parking is available in the vicinity. If you are lucky, you will also get a place right in front of the back access over the garden. Directions via Wendelinusstraße, behind the employment office to the left. Service This time I finalize the somewhat colourless service. It was a very young lady who has to learn some more. On the one hand, very flotted and attentively on the go, she was very vocabulary, shy and her smile fell quite hard. After we had found a nice place in the garden, she came very quickly with the map, immediately after that she placed a slate table with the recommendations of the day next to our table. All without bringing a word about the lips neither a welcome nor a comment on the recommendations of the kitchen. When, after the food order, she put the greeting out of the kitchen in a random manner, almost the collar burst and I called her after what she brought us. This was a kind of key experience for her, because from that point on, she was more honest and not so distant. With regard to youth and because no (service) master has fallen from heaven, I give 3 stars. Conclusion: a really good kitchen in a distinctive ambience. 100% recommended.
