VC Club - San Miguel de Allende

I was very disappointed to arrive with a reservation which they did not acknowledged, and the worst part is that it was my Birthday. I talked times previously on the phone with the owner Jorge and my surprise was that staff did not know...about my reservation. I have a group of people, it was a disaster, also I believe the cover of pesos it is too high while in other nice places there is no cover at all. Also I was not informed in advance about the minimum expenditure of pesos. In my group people do not drink therefore they told us that we can not stay if we were not agree. I was devastated and disappointed because I did not expect such bad service but Thank God San Miguel de Allende have several nice places with live music and MAMA MIA was my Birthday celebration saver, I will provide a great review to Mama Mia which has a super good live band with my favorite music Rock en Espanol . In the other hand, I won't consider to return to CV Club and also I won't recommend it to anybody; even with reservation this place is not good unless they improve their service, lower the cover charge or eliminate the expenditure fee. Una muy mala experiencia el que no hayan respetado mi reservacion, y mas por ser mi cumpleanos, tenia otras expectativas y la verdad fue una gran desilucion. El cover no es justo, es muy alto comparado con los otros lugares que he visitado en San Miguel de Allende, de hecho este es el mas alto. Aparte de todo de pedir un consume minimo por persona de pesos el cual Tambien es elevado y mas considerando que unas personas de mi grupo no toman bebidas alcoholicas y otras consume muy poco. Gracias a Dios, ya habiamos ido a Mama Mia el Viernes y la verdad es que el grupo toca fantastic ahi y regresamos a celebrar mi cumpleanos ahi con mi mjusica favorita que es Rock en Espanol y el grupo canta super bien Le dare una muy Buena resena a Mama Mia por haber salvado mi celebracion. Por otro lado, no recomendare CV Club a nadie y yo tampoco regresaria a menos que cambien eso del consumo minimo que es ilogico, o que bajen el cover, y mejoren su servicio especialemente cuando se hace una reservacion.

Great place for drinks and dancing; music and attendance is mainly over so everybody dances and sing along. There is live music with a good band that play hits form the There is cover at the entrance, but it is worth it.

We had a great time in this bar, but I have to state that all in our group were over some of us over This place has a earlier start than other night clubs; as I recall, it was only when the...live music started. With just a keyboard and a great singer, the duet kept the dance floor crowded, with music from the to The lounges and seats are more much comfortable than those intended for youngsters, but the bathrooms are a little uncomfortable, since they´re in a separate building; it´s just a few steps away, but you might need your sweater.

It is now called VC and Friends. OK so he has some famous guy there at least the guy used to be famous Doc Severinson used to lead the band for Johnny Carson. And many restaurants/bars in San Miguel with entertainment have...either a small cover charge or a minimum expenditure required. BUT BOTH? So Friday night we eat somewhere else and arrive around and there is room at the bar but it is pesos for cover charge to pay for Doc we say OK that is fine. Then he says plus peso expenditure each. Wow we were only planning to have a couple of drinks. He says, sorry. Now maybe a couple of drinks would have cost pesos each who knows. So we don't actually have a review because we didn't want to pay each to listen to a guy for an hour or two. The place looks nice from the doorway and he is obviously catering to the wealthy visitors and residents and the place was almost full, so guess he can do what he wants. When we went Thursday night they had decided not to open after advertising that they were open in the local paper. So his Club is doing well enough without visitors like us. We won't try again.

A pity. The owner, Jorge, is always available and keeping an eye on everything but, in spite of this and a great location, this place does not take off There are things that clients always look for; i. e. quality, good service, atmosphere, etc. I...believe this bar that now serves some food, mainly appetizers has many of those ingredients Maria, a San Miguel icon, even performs at this place twice a week...but people are not responding. A new theater was recently opened in the rear and, again, people are not responding as I would imagine Jorge would like to see. I have been there several times and enjoyed one of the longest happy hours in town but, still, people are not responding. I guess it is the atmosphere, perhaps not necessarily inviting. Prices are right, food is right, service is right, music (live music) is right...but people are not responding. Charisma? Either you have it or you don't. A pity, as I said. PELUCH
