Agustin Mexican Food

From my mid teens until my mid 30s, I ate at least twice a week at a small family owned Mexican restaurant in Santa Ana. When they finally closed their doors to retire, I was heartbroken. Now I live in SJC. For the last 40 years, I have tried to find their equal. I accidently stumbled upon Agustin’s online and decided to give them a try. Wow! The best Mexican food I’ve had in 40 years. I’ve eaten there for the last three days. My husband and I have tried a verde pork burrito, chile relleno, cheese enchilada, beef taquitos, fish tacos, a beef taco, a tamal and a machaca burrito. They were all excellent. Even the rice and beans, which are usually tasteless in other restaurants, were very good. The service was gracious and friendly. The portions were quite generous. I’ve tried every Mexican food restaurant in my area. This is my new home. Thank you, Agustin’s. P.S. I just read the other reviews. No, It’s not fancy. This is not low budget Mexican food, this is quality and item v item it beats the heck out of Ricardo’s.

My mom took me here, it was 1/3 mile from her house. Had the shredded beef burrito plate. I hadn't tasted shredded beef like that since 40 years ago in Tijuana! I will be going there every time I visit mom. Excellent!

Authentic Mexican food. Family owned and a local favorite.

Lovely family owned restaurant. The food was delicious. Nice portions. Returning with friends soon! First time we went the women we’re not very welcoming, Who worked there. This time it was totally different. A lovely woman serving the food was so helpful and kind and the young gentleman taking our order was very busy and yet he was very personal and so pleasant!!! Made for a beautiful evening.

Food was great. Large portion. Only tried once and can’t wait to go back.
