Bidra med feedbackEnjoyed playing board games in this place! My friends really loved it too. I think they just need to add more choices in the menu. Oh! But I do love the shakes! :)
We went to Lanterns on a late evening and it was around 9pm. It's a good cosy place, with not so huge selection of games, they have tasty food though & some delicious drinks. I don't find their staff friendly. No welcome greetings, the staff is just always at the counter & doesn't even bother ask of we still need something else.. Overall, it's a decent place to hangout with a group of friends over some board games in Antipolo. It can get noisy on busy nights though!
NOTE: Visited few months ago during their soft opening Really good selection of board games for the customers to play during their visit. The serving size is descent and will serve a 4 (quite hungry) person group. Service is decent not that fast yet not that slow. Must Tries: Onion Rings and Nachos
Lanterns Game & Grub is a board game cafè. The waitress accommodated as we went inside and throughout our stay the staff accommodates us by giving water. The staff were smiling face. They actively entertained our questions. We ordered banana chocnut milkshake and strawberry milkshake. They are both yummy and milky. I really loved the banana chocnut. They have quite alot of board games. You can ask the waitress to teach you the instruction of the board games.
My friends and I went here on a Tuesday afternoon. We were the only ones at the resto when we arrived but people started coming in after about an hour or so of our arrival. My first impression of the place was that it is very cool, cozy, and clean. I loved the wall art, which definitely is the perfect backdrop for your selfies or groufies. I would say that the place's overall look would most likely appeal to teens and yuppies. The older generations or Titas of Manila might find it too simple as it looks like they were going for the minimalist look. It is also important to take note that this place gets noisy when more people start coming in. Now off to the food! Boy oh boy! Their food is yummy! Price-point is fine for me. I personally cannot get over their nachos and fries! I am actually craving for those right now! The fried suman ala mode and oreos ala mode were also a hit among our group. Sadly, we just had our late lunch when we came to this place so we didn't really get to try their main dishes as we were still quite full. Each of the dishes we ordered were good for sharing between 2-3 people. I also ordered the lemonade mint tea, which I found very refreshing, while my friends ordered their banana chocnut shake and dalandan juice, which according to them were mucho delicioso as well! My friend said that their banana chocnut shake was similar to that of Jonah's milkshake in Boracay so I'm definitely trying that out next time! :) Now as for the service, although it is quite slow--took them about 20mins to serve our food-- I would still give them a 5 out of 5 for it. You wouldn't really notice that that much time has passed because you will be too busy enjoying your time playing with their board games. Also, their staff was very nice and she patiently helped us learn how to play some of the games. There's also a teenage boy (most likely the child of the owner) who helps customers learn the games. Lanterns Game and Grub is definitely the greatest hangout place in Antipolo right now. If you're looking for a place to chill with your friends while having some good grub, and if you are too tired of the Manila traffic like we are, this is the place-to-be. I guess my advice is not to go here when you're already extremely hangry because you might just get hangrier. Also, go here only if you have high tolerance for excited noises. ;) Sooooo happy to finally have a board game restaurant in the boondocks!
