Sherwood Inn - San Jose

We go for the karaoke. It is a wonderful community space, just the right blend of extreme talent and people you wouldn't mind going after. Everyone is nice, cheers, and high-fives. I have been back many times. There's a restaurant attached, we've had the appetizers and they were great, that's all I know of it.

No 'atmosphere ' place, but the food was good and the service was very friendly. We tried the Friday/Saturday special of steak lobster. It includes soup that tasted homemade, excellent sourdough, a tossed salad that 's very crisp and fresh, then the steak (cooked exactly as I requested), and small lobster tail. Assorted vegetables (cooked perfectly) and choice of potato also come with the entree. Then there 's a choice of dessert....loved the bread pudding! All of this for _21.99!! I can overlook the lack of atmosphere.

Place is outdated, but food was excellent as well as the service Michi). Ordered steak with three fried prawns, came with soup and salad w/ bread. Steak was cooked to perfection and baked potato was fresh and hot, loved the chives mixed in the sour cream.First time here and I loved it, I’ll definitely be back.Negatives no a/c so was a bit warm inside and there was this pesky fly that wouldn’t buzz off .

Haven't been here in a while.. more expensive than I remember.. chicken fried steak $21 yikes.. ended up ordering the chicken strips but had to order as an appetizer and fries as a side.. I don't care for the shoestring fries because they were just nothing but crispy pieces, not really a French fry. Service was fine. Not sure if I'll be back.

This homey old restaurant has a way of making you feel special and right at home. What do you want breakfast lunch and dinner you can have it when you want it. The food over all is very tasty and the service is darn good. My wife and daughter are especially fond of the patty melt here. Don't expect fancy surroundings, but you will get a good meal. I can't speak to the bar because I've never been, but it does seem to be popular at game time. Give it a try!
