Bidra med feedbackGood food, lots of people, one of the best pizza place in Santana Row
Had a lovely meal with my family here. We came after many years and it didn’t disappoint. We kicked off our meal with focaccia. It was perfectly golden on the outside and pillows of softness on the inside. Not overly oily, and just hint of rosemary. Accompanied by mulled wine, also delicious and likely seasonal. Field green salad was elegant in its simplicity. Lightly dressed and greens were very fresh. Gnocchi was a star. It’s hard to find good gnocchi in my experience, either to dense, rubbery etc. But this was just right texture and served with some arugula which cuts richness. We did a make your own pizza. It was good but I feel I enjoyed the other dishes slightly more. I am more NY style pizza person but will never say no to pizza. To round out the meal we got the giant chocolate chip cookie and latte. Both were good but cookie was slightly raw in some spots and I would have preferred it be baked more. But it was still delicious. Latte came a little late and were nearly 1/2 done with the cookie. So knocked a star off for that. It was a pricy meal but ambiance, service and quality of meal was up to par so I don’t mind paying up. There was an automatic 20% service charge 2% San Jose livable wage /benefit tacked on.
Wait time was an hour during dinner time. Heirloom potato pizza is famous here and has unique taste. Manhattan cocktail was on point. They add 20% service charge for any order, which was not expected.
A good place to have authentic Pizza or other Italian dishes when out shopping or sightseeing in Santana Row and are in the mood for some Italian food. The ambience is casual and one can sit inside or by the kerbside. The pizzas were thin crust and wood fired, just the way I like it. The salad was typical Italian and tasty. One can park in one of the parking lots nearby, so no problem. Rest rooms are clean and spacious. And yes, minimum gratuity is 20
Wanted to give a special shout out to the staff (including our server Des’ree) at Antica Pizza. Not only was the food fantastic, but they paid special attention to my daughter’s many food allergies (which we had listed out in advance on a card). It was truly appreciated.
