Nemea Greek Taverna - San Jose

The ambience was fantastic! The food was good. People who had the lamb liked it better than my beef. I felt the amount of beef souvlaki was a little less. The octopus was really good. I never ate it before it was very well prepared. Even cocktails were decent. Greek frits were really good and well seasoned, huge amount of it!

My friend and I wandered around for a long time trying to find a place that had soup and was reasonably priced. While this place has the best avogolemono soup I've every had, an generous portion at that, the rest of the menu was a little on the pricey side. Our waiter got a little side tracked so to pick up the bill took us longer, but that's really the only negative. The atmosphere and a charming mix of new and traditional Greek decor, very classy. So save up your bucks, make a reservation, and visit. If the rest of thier menu was anything like thier soup and lamb meatballs this place is worth it. If I'm ever in San Jose again this is a for sure stop.

Great place. It's really pretty and the food was great. The owner is super nice and attentive. The octopus and flamed cheese are delicious as well as the lamb shank.

Nice looking place and good service.not too familiar with Greek cuisine so I just based my review on the fish I orders.the pork chops were cooked well and in a nice sauce.not the greatest pork chop I've eaten though and a bit pricey. Dad didn't like his pizza and neither did I after taking a bite. But I'm not a fan of goat cheese though. Would have to try other dishes to give a more accurate review.

Interior is nicely appointed, large but not overly loud. Food is passable but not great for the price. Staff is very attentive, firing dishes table side nice touch. Good 'experience ' restaurant would suggest going elsewhere for more authentic and properly flavored Greek food.
