Bidra med feedbackAwesome late nite takeout and excellent delivery I only wish I'd known about them sooner now that we are leaving San Jose's terribly deteriorating environment to the beautiful Sierra foothills. But I would order regularly if we had stayed. Packed perfectly for delivery and still hot or cold where applicable. Lobster bisque is a hit! Lots of veggie options and the lemon cake is a real treat.
I just ordered Dorie's Kitchen on UberEats and I'm so satisfied! It's a little hard to find healthier places to eat at a later time. But there's an awesome selection. I picked the salmon with quinoa and two types of veggies. The quinoa blend is really good as well as the salmon. I'd definitely order from here again!
I hadn 't heard of Dorie 's Kitchen until I was looking to grab a late night meal from Uber Eats. I was surprised to come across Dorie 's and see how robust the menu was. I ordered the Fit Fare and had to cancel out all of the healthy eating with a slice of chocolate cake of course. The quinoa blend was so flavorful and delicious and so were the shrimp. Next time I 'd request the veggies to be steamed a little longer, but I will definitely order again. My only ask and why I couldn 't give 5 stars would be to increase the portion size as it was so very small for $11. While I understand I ordered shrimp you can choose between several including chicken, steak, and salmon, among others it could 've been slightly bigger for the price. It IS a 'fare ' option hence the name, however an additional scoop of quinoa and an additional shrimp or two would 've offset my feelings of the lack of portion. I wouldn 't order this menu item again for the size, but definitely will order from Dorie 's again!
This is really more of a 2.5 or 3 for salads, but the clam chowder and chili con carne are not worth the price. The clam chowder had no flavor, a few tiny pieces of clam and barely any potatoes I could taste or see. Basically, it was warm milk. The chili had no meat at all, even though I ordered meat chili. I could live with that if it had been full of beans. Instead, there were a few beans and a bunch of chili flavored tomato broth. The shrimp and crab salad looked good and my husband ate it, but the Cobb salad was missing turkey or chicken, staples of a Cobb salad. I didn't care for the bottled ranch dressing. Restaurants can easily make hidden valley ranch dressing from gallon packets sold by every restaurant supply store. The flavor is so much fresher than the bottled variety. All in all an unsatisfactory lunch that mainly went in the trash.
I would definitely like to come back here and sample more of their delicious menu. I had the Jack Daniels Pepper Steak. It was simply delicious! It wasn't the best cut of prime rib, but it was tasty! The broccoli and beans (two of the many side offerings from which to choose) were nicely blanched then roasted to a satisfying crunch. To sum sum up my experience it would be home cooking with a gourmet touch. Nothing fancy, but good enough to come back for more! One disappointment, however, was that Yelp still has a first-time check-in 10% off coupon, that the waitress said they haven't been honoring for over six months, even though they have tried to communicate with Yelp several times. Ignore the coupon.
