Bidra med feedbackI think this is a good option if one wants to eat in a minute. The restaurant offers the possibility of combining a good sandwich and a glass of wine. Everything they offer is quite typical from Tuscany, excellent quality and wide range of options. Do not expect a big place, since the restaurant offers quite small facilities really cozy though. The staff is nice and attentive, always ready to explain what you're drinking and eating. Finally, amazing value for food, so really interesting option if you don't want to expend too much. Congratulations!
This little gem served simple local dishes in a small restaurant, slightly off the main shopping street in San Gimignano. The cheeses were all carefully chosen from local organic farms. The owners, a friendly husband and wife team were knowledgable and helpful, instructing us on the order to eat the cheese selection to fully benefit from the individual flavours. Wines from within a very small radius of the town were also organic and paired beautifully with the dishes. This was a surprise to our visit and one which delighted us!
Our plans changed unexpectedly and we found ourselves in San Gimignano with no real plan as to where we would eat. We saw I Macchiaioloi Vineria on TA, it looked good so off we went. It completely exceeded our expectations, situated in a side street off the ‘tourist’ track, it has only 3 tables so get their early if you want lunch. We chose local cheese and meats, which were delicious. Washed down by a lovely local wine. Excellent food and service. We highly recommend a visit to this lovely, if tiny, wine bar/restaurant.
It was nice to find a quiet place where we were actually able to learn about the wine, learn about the cheese, and learn about the different meats. In a highly tourist area, it was a great find where Luigi (the owner) showed the love he has for his shop and the products he offers. Highly recommended to slow down and enjoy the place. With Luigi teaching us about pairing wine to cheese and the different meats was something that is hard to find in such a busy tourist area. We loved the place!
We ended up going here twice as we enjoyed the experience so much. The place is small and a table can be hard to come by, but if you are luck enough to get one, plan to stay for a while and enjoy. The owner is very friendly and helpful. This is also a wine shop, so they have a great wine selection, and he will help you with that as well. We tried the aged prosciutto, the meat and cheese board (all locally sourced and very high quality), and the Tonno del Chianti (twice). The Chianti Tuna is really pork that has been marinated in wine, and really does look, and taste, like tuna. This is a very cozy, very comfortable spot for a glass of wine or an entire meal.
