Casa Vieja del Rio

Nice restaurant with a beautiful view on a Catedral de Nuestra Señora de la Inmaculada Concepción. The food was simple but very tasty. Coctails like Cashasa are only 70 peso per drink. We had a great time, thanks to general manager Jesus Rogelio Haas Can. He was very kind and told us interesting facts about Campeche.

I went to this restaurant because it seemed to have a nice view and I can tell you, I was not disappointed at all! I had three cocktails (the Casa Vieja Margarita is an absolute must-try! while reading my book and looking at the beautiful church.I enjoyed passing my time there as the waiters were lovely and asking a few times if they could be of any help. After some time I went on to try the Chaya cruygente (aka crispy chaya with raw honey, cheese and extra’s , a fantastic experience. It was so filling even if it was fried chaya leaves (chaya is like the mayan spinach . Regalio and the boys were sweet and helped me to recommend the best drinkIt was a great experience and I can only recommend trying it yourself.

Every time we visit Campeche we eat here. The view is UNBEATABLE!! This time we were greeted and treated with personal attention by the manager Rogelio. The foid was also delicious and fresh! Amazing photo spots!!

The Casa offers a wonderful view over the Independence Square and the cathedral! In our group we enjoyed a sundowner and then later an after dinner drink, while enjoying the view both in sunlight and later while illuminated at night especially the cathedral! We sat on the terrace, but the inside looked also very inviting. There was a small problem with my credit card but both the owner and the manager went out of their way to find a solution. Next time we will stop by for some food as well!

La carta es mexicana y un poco reducida. La sopa de lima es fantástica. Muy recomendable. Los meseros, ya en sus años, súper amables.
