Bidra med feedbackOur team did not even tip which is highly unusual . Thee service was terrible . A direct quote was please never schedule a dinner there for us again. Food was ok but it wasn’t worth it
We had a great time enjoying dinner at Toy Soldier before heading to Davies Symphony Hall for a show. This was our first time dining in this alley full of restaurants, and we were pleasantly surprised by the delicious cocktails, steaks, gnocchi, and crab cakes. The entire group enjoyed the food, and the service was excellent.
The food was actually really good when we received it. Our reservations were for 12:30, it took 10 minutes (or more) to seat us, and after we ordered, we did not see any food until 1:30. We did not order anything unusual. The mitigating factor was the food was actually really good. But by the time we got the food, we had to rush our meal to get out of there by 2:00 to meet our afternoon appointments. We were told that they were very busy, but its a tiny restaurant. We had reservations being busy is no excuse for the food to take an hour after our reservation time.
The staff was very accommodating to our group, which continued to grow as more people dropped in.
The restaurant was crowded that evening, which was a positive sign for them. However, they were short-staffed to handle the large number of guests. Our reservation was for 7pm, and we were informed that our food would take approximately an hour. We ended up receiving our meal at 9pm. One of our guests ordered gnocchi, which was delicious, but received a different pasta dish instead.
