Tenmatsu - San Francisco

I LOVE Tenmatsu!! I miss it so much from the days I worked in FiDi. They have great prepared rolls and bentos. The prices are reasonable for the quality of food you are getting.

I love this place many homey and delicious options for Under $10!!! Yes that's right when everything else costs $20 in Fidi this is a great option

Another person wrote this and I'm compelled to echo their sentiment; please support this small business! I have been eating here since they opened years ago and ate here several times a week back when I worked in the area. Not making this about me but this place was a part of my weight loss journey; I often wanted tasty food without guilt and Tenmatsu was perfect for me. Post pandemic, I find myself in the FiDi again and I consistently go out of my way to eat here. The woman/family who owns it could not be nicer. She is warm and friendly and I just really appreciate the simplicity of the place. No frills, you get in, you get out with good food prepared by kind hands. Give them a try! The city needs places like this and owners who care about their clientele.

PLEASE SUPPORT THIS SMALL BUSINESS!!!! Service: Great grab-and-go spot in FiDi! Love that it 's so quick and easy to grab on a busy day. There are both hot foods and cold (sushi) available however, at the time I went (12:06pm on a Friday) there wasn 't many options! Not sure if they were still prepping or the lunch rush already passed. I definitely wished there were more options. One thing that bothered me was that the cashier, a young girl, was very polite but then asked can you make sure to tip? . I was definitely going to tip as I always support small businesses it was my first time there, but to bluntly ask for tip sort of threw me off. I get that it 's such a small business and I 'm sure during the pandemic, it was difficult to get through, but maybe a cute sign or a more visible tip jar would 've been a better way to communicate tipping? Otherwise, transaction was simple and quick. Food: Sushi was pretty good quality! I got a bento box w 5 pieces of nigiri and 4 pieces of rolls. It was well packed fairly filling! For $15, I 'm not complaining. I would definitely go back!! Location: It 's located on Kearny, in FiDi, walking distance to all of the major companies. When you pass by, it really doesn 't look like much and is sort of a whole in the wall, but it 's pretty much a hidden gem. Absolutely recommend this place!!
