We were very excited to dine here but unfortunately it was a letdown. The restaurant offered multiple creative sounding dishes, with the tasting menu being a few smalled portioned dishes selected from the menu. We ordered 6 different dishes a la carte, ranging from raw food, snacks, salads and hot entree. Most of them came out too salty for our taste, especially the oysters and the salmon sashimi. My partner said the oysters were so salty she couldnt taste them anymore. Or for the sushi rice, the ikura (salmon egg) 's saltiness just completely overwhelmed the raw beef to the point that we wondered if we even tasted the beef at all! The dishes appeared sophisticated at first sight but the flavor combination was confusing to us. We did enjoy the pork neck and stonefruit salad. The staff were also incredibly nice. Overall, for the price paid, we expected a bit more.
Came here for a birthday celebration and Ernest did not disappoint! We had the tasting menu which was an abundance of food (usually rare for a chefs menu). The appetizer course was delicious and almost all the dishes were unique and flavorful! One of our new favorites in the city.
