Bidra med feedbackWe love supporting local small businesses. When I think of Chalos, I am always excited to order a lovely chai latte paired with a crispy warm sugary churro. If I am in a savory mood, I order the empanadas combo. If you do end up getting the churro, highly recommend you eat it there while it's warm and crispy. The staff are always pleasant and nice. There are a few tables where you can enjoy your beverage and pet watch. Lovely cozy neighborhood cafe.
The Absolutely Best Argentina empanadas from the whole Bay Area! The quality of all the different empanadas is straight from Rosario, Argentina. An authentic and try experience.
The best empanadas and churros! Carne Dulce, and Champignones empanadas are a must try. The regular carne and chicken are also really good! Wish we could have tried them all! The churros are cooked to perfection with a crunchy outside and soft inside We loved the Dulce De Leche, it paired nicely with the churros. We took some empanadas to go and they warmed up perfectly in the hotel microwave. Don’t forget to wrap them in napkins while warming up. It’s also a really cute place, highly recommend stopping by and dining in if possible. The owners are super nice people!
Amazing little cafe--a chance drop in. This was my first time visit and I was curious about their empanadas. It's a large space, with both bench tables and small tables; comfy chairs--very inviting and welcoming. The ambiance is great! It can be a great place to meet up and hang out or just a place to chill, read a book with coffee and empanadas. This is a screen free zone--laptops, ipads, etc. are discouraged. I ordered 3 empanadas to try--the carne dulce (sweet beef), carne picante (spicy beef) champignones (mushrooms). I thought all 3 tasted delicious. You have the option of having these fried or baked, but frying takes longer so I got the baked ones. The crust was not doughy. Each one is about the size of a hand and maybe 3 bites worth. I'll definitely have to go back to try more flavors.
Perfectly sized empanadas! Fried or baked are both good because the dough is not thick. If you're health conscious, go baked. If you like the little bubbles that appear when dough gets deep fried, go fried! You can also always get two and get it both ways ; Super awesome owners with wonderful family values and authentic food! Oh and I had very low expectations for the churros but it was so good! Enjoy it when it's still hot and fresh
