Bidra med feedbackWhile the ambiance, service, and cocktails at Aphotic were excellent, I am disappointed that the 10 course Tasting Menu at the Chef's Counter fell flat. I only enjoyed 4 out of the 10 courses and the best one was the Hokkaido milk bread with lobster hollandaise sauce. The majority of the courses lacked flavor and creativity especially the abalone with the cloudy and flavorless dashi. I was unable to finish the dashi and the server was surprised I had my bowl more than halfway full. Nonetheless, the memorable service made up for the tasting menu! Here's to hoping for more improvement on the upcoming tasting menu!
Celebrated our anniversary here and I must say I think we officially found our favorite restaurant in SF! From ambience, service, to of course the food, everything was on point.
Outstanding experience for an anniversary dinner. Gorgeous restaurant, perfect service. Attentive without being overbearing, formal but not stuffy. The wine pairing was an adventure and I appreciated the explanations. The seafood tasting menu was inspired, creative, and a delight.
Food is pretty good, highly recommend include wine pairing.The only part that can be improved is service. One server put utensils on wrong side, gave me empty wine glass when the next dishes don’t have wines, and also plans to take the dishes when I was still working on it… never experienced those things in other MichelinBesides that I would say this is a nice place, might come next time for cocktails.
An amazing unique experience during our Cocktail Tasting w/ Michael N. Can’t forget about our wonderful host, Nathan too! We were treated like royalty in this gorgeous environment with the most creative ingredients and stories. Unbelievable. Wow.
