Prezzi onesti.
Ottima osteria Piatti locali e genuini. Facile parcheggiare Posto vicino alla grande panchina
If you are thinking of going to this osteria, think about it twice. The road to arrive there is scenic and quite beautiful, that is the last good experience you will have. The restaurant is poorly managed by an owner who is extremely rude and has bad manners with customers. The food is sub par and quite costly. For instance I ordered a Fiorentina cooked rare, it arrived well cooked, dry and the meat was tough. I sent it back immediately as it was not cooked as I had ordered it. The next piece arrived just out of the freezer, undercooked and cold. I complained and took a piece of the cold meat to the ‘chef’, his mother, the owner told me ‘if you want to show us how to cook meat, come to the kitchen and show us’….is this the way to treat customers? . Also the the mixed salad we ordered arrived only with olive oil, no vinegar, the potatoes were cold, the bread was gummy as it had been put in the microwave. We requested to have the bread warmed up, but it never happened. Their servings of potatoes and or vegetables was minimal. Additionally, while there, both bathrooms were broken, and their excuse was that diapers had been flushed down the toilets and they didn’t have anyone to fix them then. Of course I did not see any infants among the customers. The issue with non functioning toilets is against the law and an indication of how things are ‘managed’ in this restaurant. My husband was forced to go and pee in the bushes, there were many elderly customers and I cannot begin to think how they managed to relieve themselves. This osteria had ratings in their website of 4.0, they do not deserve a 1.0. The experience is the mountains is supposed to be ‘selvatica’ (jungle like) and that is what is was…. Horrible experience. Additionally, while
Visiting Alpe Grande was a highlight for us on our recent holiday. The food was sensational and the owner Beppi welcomed us like family. It is a lovely warm environment in a beautiful setting. We can’t recommend it highly enough.
This beautiful old restaurant tucked away in the mountain pass of San Fedele is a rare gem worth discovering. A popular family run business with the very capable Giuseppe at the helm and his son head chef in the kitchen. Good relaxed professional vibe with a changing daily menu of traditional dishes. Perfect for that looong lunch or slow dinner by the fire.
