The Lion's Share - San Diego

We LOVE The Lion's Share! Everything about it is great...food, cocktails, service, ambiance. We have loved this little neighborhood gem and are sad we are moving away from it. We will come back when we come back to San Diego but have some very happy memories there. David is the best!

So glad we stumbled upon this gem of a restaurant! Awesome food, meticulously prepared with exciting combination of ingredients. Very attentive and nice staff. It’s a downtown hip restaurant so expect crowds, noise, and high energy.

Had a reservation. Was taken to a postage stamp size table just inside the front door. Unable to see the bar and all of the animal head displays. One choice of Chardonnay and one Pinot Noir offered per glass. Really??? Waiter did not offer any menu info nor asked if we had any questions. He seemed rushed and wanted to be done with us. If we would have had more info about menu we would have ordered differently. The worst dining experience ever.

A great restaurant when looking for ambiente, character, flesh. I am not a big fan of restaurant-specific cocktails they are in the rule overpriced and the results ate ok. Personally for them I would throw back to African safari and simplify. large gin martini, large bourbon and soda, etc. their wee are excellent.

This place is great! first the service was excellent from the minute I went. immediately I sat, had my menu for a few moments and my drink order was taken. the ambiente is so cool. great and funny mood. I thought we were in a hunting lodge on lsd. eating was delicious and very different. can't wait to come back.
