Bidra med feedbackI had the pleasure of meeting the lovely Sondra Santos Drahos here for coffee and my very first acai bowl. Just to set the record straight: I can be quite particular about my cold brew—I prefer it black and bitter (much like my spirit?). This café did not disappoint! The service was fantastic, mostly provided by young staff who were exceedingly polite and helpful. The enormous acai bowl was absolutely delicious! I particularly enjoyed the blend of coconut and cashews. Since it was my first bowl, I don’t have anything to compare it to, but I left feeling very satisfied. Plus, I couldn’t resist taking some funny pictures of the cool painted map of La Jolla they had in the bathroom. This spot has a lot of charm. I'll definitely be back!
This restaurant exudes a laid-back, youthful vibe typical of La Jolla. The art, succulents, and lighting contribute to a wonderful atmosphere. For dinner, I tried my first acai bowl, and I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed it! Although I'm not a fan of bananas, the honey, nuts, and coconut made for delicious toppings. The portion was generous and incredibly refreshing on a hot day, making it a great alternative to ice cream or frozen yogurt for those looking to indulge without something overly sweet.
We visited Shore Thing in La Jolla on our first morning, and our experience was so enjoyable that we ended up eating there for breakfast or lunch every day of our week-long trip. As a vegetarian, I appreciated the variety of fresh ingredients available for healthy menu options. I particularly loved the field sandwich, which I had as a wrap with added quinoa, and the breakfast sandwich with avocado on seedy ciabatta was a wonderful way to kick off the day. We also sampled their homemade granola bars, which made for a perfect snack during our hikes along the coast. The staff at Shore Thing were incredibly friendly and offered excellent recommendations. I only wish we had a place like this back home!
