Bidra med feedbackAs a chinese person, PF Chang’s is nothing special. I know tons of chinese people that haven’t even eaten here (this review is concerning my only time here . This is for good reason, though. The food is overpriced, though not terrible. Unfortunately, when i went here, i ate some food earlier, so i decided to get something smaller, like a soup or appetizer. Upon questioning, i found out that the appetizers, esp the dumplings, were puny (disappointing, since it is expensive. a reg Chinese place would give like twice as many dumplings or more! . I opted with the Pin Rice Noodle Soup. It was pretty good, but the spiciness definitely accumulates (this is normal though . The worst part though was that later that night, while playing poker, i started to feel really awkward (somewhat numby, like when your leg is partially asleep in my hands, and chest. The only reason i could think of was the soup, so i’m blaming it. On the plus side, the other food is pretty tasty. Our waiter was also dumb, and accidentally gave us a wrong dish, so we got free sweet and sour pork, but thats just plain lucky. If you really want the american restaurant atmosphere and americanized chinese food, eat here; otherwise, the real deal, greasy chinese food tastes better.
The first thing you notice when you walk into P.F Changs is that it’s trendy. The atmosphere was modern, hip and your surroundings definitley make you even hungrier with the grand, Chinese decour. First thing, food. The food is pricey for a modernized version of Chinese food but extremely good. The appetizers are expensive! For example, I ordered Peking Dumplings. I only received four for the price of $5.50. But everything else was magnificient. Order the House specialties, you can never go wrong from there and dessert isn’t a bad try either. Just be careful on what you order! Service is always excellent. Very attentive. Sometimes a little bit distracted but all in all, great.
Definitely not your average Chinese-American grease fest. Although no where near traditional Chinese food, their menu provides plenty of choices to satisfy. The servings are a little on the small side in ratio to the price, though. Just last night I was there and I had: the dali chicken, tam’s noodles, yunnan wontons, peking dumpling, and their flourless chocolate dome. The appetizers are really small for what they’re worth…the dumplings weren’t anything special. The yunnan wontons were freaking good. If you’ve ever had the cream cheese wontons at pick-up-sticks…it’s like that but a lot better. As for the main dishes, they were good as well. Warning for those with sensitive stomachs…when an entree is marked as spicy…it’s spicy. And just to add…another dessert they offer that’s really good is the banana spring rolls :D
