Bidra med feedbackThe food was good but the service not so much. I waited 15 minutes sitting down on my table before the waiter came to say hi and take my order. Then waited 25 minutes after asking 2 different people for the check (waiter no where to be seen). I only recommend if you are in no rush at all. Coffee is good and pastries are yummy.
We stopped in for dessert to-go. The counter is filled with goodies galore. I wish things were designated by name. We chose chocolate mousse cake and white Napoleon. The mousse cake was like a light, luscious chocolate cloud, while the Napoleon was a good representation of the cake, with gushy cream between crisp layers. I would love to try more of what they have!
Dined January 31, 2022. Great food, pleasant outdoor heated seating with a canopy overhead. Couldn’t ask for anything more, dining outdoor in 59F weather, coming from 24F in Chicago. Walked past Solunto’s twice. Our waitress Juliana was attentive. Order glasses of Malbec from Mendoza, Argentina. Shared a plate of Insalata Di Polipo, great salad with artichokes, black olives, potatoes and tender octopus. The Cioppino was very good. Lots of seafood but I should have asked for it spicier. My partner wanted pesto. He ordered Fusilli Genoese, which was good, but he just wanted pesto, no chicken, dried tomatoes, etc. I could leave without getting dessert(s).
Wonderful bakery. Finding real Italian in the predominantly Mexican realm was a luck. Another surprise: beer selection and its quality completely unexpected combination. Thin crust white pizza excellent. To summarize: we spent a wonderful hour there and wishing you the same. Buon appetito!
Solunto was open when we needed it for a late dinner, and the Italian food was delicious. The staff was very accommodating and polite even though we were there a little past closing. Would definitely go again!
