Dos Amores

This is a mezcal and craftsmanship. We tried the local beers. It was funny because the owner was so knowledgeable, the beers were delicious and you felt you were drinking at a friend. The owner needed time to talk about what beer we like, and then he gave recommendations. Every single thing he recommended was on site! I appreciate he got the beers out of the fridge and he kept enough beer in there to be cold. This meant that the beer I had the day before (yes, we went more than once) may not be cold, which forced me to try more beer.

I first visited Dos Amores in Feb 2016. Last night I went again and wow it is better if that is possible, it is!!!. The Mexican beers have matured and evolved and are much better as the micro brewers mature and become more professional and...the European beers are great and diverse. But most important is that the owner Paco has proven that he does indeed sell experiences, he shares his knowledge of beer with passion and intelligence, he truly loves what he is doing. He knows his stuff. Go, you will be happy. One final note the locale is perfect for all lovers as it is romantic small and intimate, with a constant stream of local and International patrons.

Dos Amores is set up as a beer boutique where you can buy beers for home (or a picnic! or drink in the pretty, friendly bar. The name refers to two loves , beer and mezcal, but beers have the upper hand. The owner Paco is...a serious beer expert and can give you detailed info on his products, making sure you get a beer you 'll like or stretch your comfort zone and giving you something new to try. If you want to stay in and drink and enjoy the vibe of central San Cristobal, you can also order pizza or a hamburger from nearby establishments. The staff make it easy by phoning in your order and adding the price to your bill. The only downside is that the venue is quite small, so best get there early to get a table!

Staff are super friendly and know their beers. Perfect environment! Wish I could bring this place with me when I leave Mexico.
