Bidra med feedbackI just tried Good News Burgers for the first time and it was mostly a great experience. The burger was huge (Jack Burton) and the bun... I fell in love with the bun. Buttery, toasty and just a little sweetness. By far the best bun I've ever had on a burger, anywhere. The bacon and the cheese on this burger was superb. The onion rings were super delicious. Light batter that tasted a lot like a beer batter. Crunchy and not greasy and the onions were cooked perfectly. Some of the best onion rings I've had in San Antonio. Now for the only bad part. I ordered the fried mushrooms and was super super disappointed. (I've included a picture with a quarter in the pic for reference) There were only 7 small mushrooms in the order. At $7.95 tax per order, that means every mushroom costs more than $1 each. They were overcooked and very greasy and by the time I got them home, all the breading was nothing but mush and I live less than 4 minutes from the store.Overall, the experience was great. The mushrooms are a huge NO. Super disappointed because I was really wanting fried mushrooms and that was one of the major reasons for my visit. Was considering going to another place for a burger but they didn't offer fried mushrooms.I will go back for the Burgers and the O-rings but the fried mushrooms, never again. I would have given this place a 5 star rating had I not ordered the mushrooms but I did, and that disappointment cost them 1 star.
HANDS DOWN THIS IS THE BEST BURGER I HAVE EVER HAD!!!I pretty much will not go anywhere else for a Burger! If they are closed I'm not eating a burger I'm eating somewhere else that serves different type of food! Not only is the food great, but the staff is just as wonderful! This is my favorite place in all of San Antonio!
Now I have been to the original Papa's burgers on the west side and was so excited to see that they have another location here closer to where I live. I brought my friend who had never eaten here before and I promised him that this was indeed the BEST burger in San Antonio! And man I knew I was right but to have my best friend tell me I was right means that I know a good burger! Everything was absolutely superb! We both had the bacon cheeseburger combo and I had tater tots and he had onion rings. Have you ever eaten something so delicious that you can't even talk because you're too busy saying Mmmmmmmm? This was us while we ate!! We also also had excellent customer service and the nostalgic feel of the restaurant as well as the cleanliness made it easy to see why this place is definitely a great place for people to come to. The flow of people was steady and even throughout that the staff were cleaning tables and making sure areas were sanitized. I'm so glad to have them near my home and I will be back very soon!
Came in for a late lunch with my friend and WOW... The burger was amazing. I opted for the #3 bacon cheeseburger combo with onion rings. Bun was warm, soft and buttery. Meat was cooked to perfection. Veggies were cool and crisp. Rings weren't too oily or fell apart. Staff was friendly and attentive. Restaurant was clean and inviting; all in all an excellent experience
Visited this little spot for the 1st time looking to find a decent burger, ended up having the best burger I've ever had in San Antonio. and burgers are my favorite food so that is saying a lot. Not only is the food a 10/10, it's the type of restaurant where you automatically feel at home because of the lovely staff. It's the type of restaurant where the cook comes out and asks the diners personally if they're enjoying their food. you have a new regular customer Good News burgers, thank y'all.
