Original Donut Shop - San Antonio

First time stopping in today and I was very pleased with the true old school atmosphere! When you’re in line to order tacos you can see the ladies making fresh tortillas! Great service and very efficient! The donuts are wonderful too! I’m so glad I stopped in while I was in the area! Heads up on the parking- it’s one way in coming off of Fredericksburg Road. I found that out the hard way by coming in the wrong entrance with my large pickup truck and having to turn around to get properly parked before going inside. This place is busy- I advise ordering ahead during busier times.

I asked for bacon n eggs, thought they forgot bacon. Guy said it's there, n points at a tiny little piece of bacon hiding under the egg. They Chopin up in tiny pieces n mix it. Can't really taste it, but they do charge u for it. The seating is cramped. We ended up sitting outside, where it was a bit chilly. There are NO heaters outside n no plastic walls to protect from cold. Parking is terrible n tight. We parked across the street.

Great breakfast plate. Added an extra flour tortilla to finish it off.

Nice and friendly service even when they are slammed. We were a bit disappointed with the breakfast tacos. We checked lots of local guides and reviews while planning stops for our trip. Lots of people recommend this place. Getting the tacos toasted was good. However, we were disappointed by the lack of flavor in the food. My taco had potatoes, and while good, there just was no flavor to them. Really bland.However, we also got some donut holes, and those were really good. I wish we'd gotten donuts instead of the tacos because those tasted great!
