Vela - San Andreas

Eating was very good. it was a busy night, so the service was slow.

The first time here and I will tell myself that the restaurant is a newly built space from the hilton bayfront hotel (which I was for past events). the restaurant is located next to the pointe, the event room in the hotel, and the interior is the old fox sports grill. our group came to drink and dinner on a Sunday night after the sd symphony performance at the rady shell. a “Fire Pit” table was reserved, which was a large selection of seats in their outdoor terrace. our server was wonderful, friendly and attentive (but not excessive). we shared calamari appetizer, parking rolls, pizza and pasta everything was delicious and the cocktails we ordered were also delicious. will definitely go back to try more from their menu points.

Angelo and all the waitstaff was Exceptional! Food was good and the views of the harbor wonderful!

Families vacay. The food was great!! Kitchen was a bit behind but our server was fantastic!

Had a wonderful dinner last night. Patio table was great in August. However, there wasn 't much selection of tables on the patio (inside was empty) and most were for larger parties. The 'deuces ' were pretty tight which made a private conversation difficult. Food was fantastic! (we had Tuna and Pork meals) Only complaint was that it was delivered 'cool ' not 'hot ' Waiter was very nice and quite attentive. I think he was possibly stretched with the number of customers. Seems like all restaurants are struggling with inadequate staff. Food wasn 't super fast, but there was a special event. We were not in a hurry. I think we could have gotten our food more quickly if we had asked. But the waiter knew we didn 't need to rush. Location good, i.e. within walking distance of the Rady Shell (very close). But little competition unless you eat in the Gas Lamp or at Seaport Village, Fish Market, etc. Overall, I consider my meal excellent and it 's a beautiful location. I am looking forward to my next visit....soon!
