Nemea - San Andreas

We have visited Nemea multiple times and the food has always been good, though not exceptional. I would recommend the restaurant based on the food alone. However, the service is where Nemea falls short. It can be hit or miss. During our most recent visit on a Saturday night, we were seated promptly but then had to wait for a server. After about 7 minutes, a server finally came to take our order. We requested cocktails, which arrived in a reasonable amount of time. We then ordered dinner, with the mushroom risotto being okay and the chicken souvlaki being very good. Once our meals arrived, our server never returned to check on us for the next 30 minutes. We had a show to attend and had to flag down a busser to locate our server and quickly get our bill. Poor service really affects the overall dining experience at a restaurant. Nemea needs to work on improving their service.

The Valentine's Day set menu at this restaurant left much to be desired. The quality of the food did not match the high prices. I was disappointed with both the food and the service, as my waiter seemed impatient and oblivious to social cues. He cleared my plates while I was still eating, which was frustrating.

The service at this restaurant was extremely poor and the portions were too small for the price of $85 per person. I would not recommend going there for special occasions.

Very expensive for the quality of the food. Would not go back.

Valentines’ day pris fixe dinner: my husband and I chose memea as we love Greek food! Overall we were disappointed with the quality of the food 1st course: pita did not appear to be “homemade”, like any other toasted bread, dips were varied and very good. 2nd course: salad nice looking, but not well seasoned and my husband’s phyllo appetizer just ordinary. 3rd course (entree) I chose grilled lamb chops superb; my husband’s beef and mushroom Shish kebab beef not tender and not generous portion. Dessert selections just okay. I wanted to like this restaurant since I feel sorry for restaurants struggling in this area of downtown San Jose. Our waiter was very good however attentive and personable. Unfortunately will go back to this restaurant. Disappointed....
