Dokken - Samsoe

We enjoyed fish free kayaks on this restaurant. The food and the atmosphere were good. Located on the sea and you can stroll around the harbour afterwards and enjoy the evening coffee or ice somewhere else.

First of all this place can pride itself of having a very good and enthusiastic team of young people (hostess/host/waiters/waitresses) which more than weighs up for the place’s culinary shortcomings. Food is honest and good but like in most other places in Ballen probably overpriced. Would we go there again? Yes, even if you may find better alternatives nearby you can’t ignore the fact that the setting is quite stunning.

Dokken is nicely located at the harbour in Ballen. Interior is nautical, simple but pleasant. The menu is would fit the same description. We had the plaice, which is tasty, fresh and comes with the typical (good) danish potatoes with creamy sauce. Service is friendly, with a good sense of humour. We found the prices reasonable, certainly by Danish standards

Probably location wise the best restaurant in Ballen with a beautiful view over the harbour. Excellent service and tasty food. Both fish and meat dishes available as well as a small dessert selection. Nice selection of different wines and champagne. Make a reservation in the high season as this place is very popular.

Very quaint and cozy restaurant by the harbor with an old fishing boat in the middle of the restaurant. Good and solid portions of Danish specialties and the service was quick and friendly. Can definitely recommend if you just feel like a casual dinner and some hygge .
