Bidra med feedbackWe had an amazing experience during our first visit to Salem from Texas for Halloween 2023. The atmosphere was perfect, and the drinks were fantastic! Cheers, everyone! P.S. Don't miss the Shepherd's Pie!
My cousins and I were on the hunt for a fun place to celebrate the end of the year. We arrived around 10 PM to find the restaurant about half full. After ordering a couple of drinks, we headed to the dance floor at the back, where a live DJ was playing some good music. Overall, we had a great time. The staff was friendly and even gave us a heads-up about closing time. I would definitely come back!
1. **Pumpkin Pie Shots**: As someone who doesn't typically drink, I found these shots to be absolutely DELICIOUS. They genuinely tasted like a pumpkin pie, and I'm usually not a fan of sweets or pumpkin flavors. It's no surprise they were sold out! 2. **Jell-O Shots**: Not too shabby, especially for my first experience with these! 3. **Long Island Iced Tea**: This was really enjoyable and refreshing. **Service**: They did start charging cover fees as the night progressed, but the bouncers managed things well, ensuring the venue didn't get overcrowded on a Friday night in October. **Ambiance**: I don't go out much, but I have to say this place was nicer than the bars I've visited in Fenway and Seaport. It felt less crowded, and the music was fantastic—lots of Latin pop, which I loved. It wasn't sweaty or unpleasant at all. Overall, it's definitely a lively spot in Downtown Salem. Even though the lines were long on a Friday night in October, they moved quickly. The drinks are solid, and I would recommend it if you're looking for a fun night out with a good group of friends.
My friend and I were in Salem for a short time coming from New Jersey, and had to grab a quick bite to eat. I love a good pub so we decided to go to ONeills. Now I'm a beef stew snob, I went to Ireland and basically ate beef stew all around the country and obviously it's made in a certain way that just some pubs here don't quite get right. I was hesitant to order the beef stew because I wasn't sure they could live up to my standards, but I was really in the mood for it so I ordered it. To my surprise, it tasted quite like the beef stew I would get overseas in Ireland. I was so excited! I couldn't believe I found a stew that brought me right back to my time in Ireland. Next time I would want to get it in a bread bowl! Also we had shepherds pie Rangoon which seems to be their unique speciality since I've never heard of it before lol so delicious! You need to grab an order of this cause you won't get it anywhere else. The staff was lovely and everything came out super fast. When I come back to Salem, I will be coming to this pub again for my Rangoon and beef stew.
Wonderful place to stumble into after stumbling off the train from Boston! Friendly clientele, great staff and perfect pub pours. Had so much fun I'm not sure I remember why we left!
