More appearance than reality! The atmosphere around the castle with the hotel and everything is very nice and there is nothing wrong with it. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said about the restaurant itself. We were a group of 10 people, everyone had a starter and a main course. We knew in advance that the prices were a bit higher and had high expectations accordingly. The starter and the tarte flambée also lived up to expectations. Unfortunately not the main course. 9x onion roast and 1x sauerbraten. Unfortunately, for €36, the quality of the meat was not sufficient. The meat was sinewy and tough in many places and the portion wasn't the largest either. For 10 people there were 3 smaller bowls of spaetzle, which weren't enough at the front and back, but we were told that there would of course be seconds, which unfortunately we had to pay for at the end... In the end the bill was over €600 and there wasn't even any schnapps because you can get it on the house in every restaurant around the corner. Would we come again? No, we wouldn't. For the money and quality you can get it much cheaper elsewhere! A pity. This is the third time we have been here and we are simply thrilled. The ambience, the service, the great food is unbeatable far and wide. We will always come back here because we are more than satisfied all around. Price-performance is great and if you are there, please try the incredibly delicious Kaiserschmarrn. My friends gave me an evening here for my 50th birthday. The chef was probably very in love, but that didn't ruin the evening for us! Unfortunately, there were no flavor explosions because the saltiness overshadowed everything else. Therefore only 3 stars for the food. The service was courteous and very friendly. There's just nothing wrong here, the service took our order, put the wine down and then wasn't seen again for 1 1/2 hours. Then someone came and asked if everything was okay and we said we didn't have anything yet. She ran away again and wasn't seen for another half hour. The food was also a complete disappointment, the hand-scraped spaetzle were industrial over-salted spaetzle, the sauerbraten was not sour and aromatic, but an admittedly soft meat without aroma with a sweet sauce. The curry lentil soup was delicious, but the lentils were missing. Salad was edible, pumpkin and carrots were ok, but I've eaten much better in simple country inns.
