Bidra med feedbackThe menu was quite extensive, but eating, not expensive. seafood tasted fresh and the fries were very good. if they have a group with different meal preferences, this is a good place to eat. it is a very casual atmosphere.
Good selection of seafood with local touch. eating is okay and reasonable price. the list of dishes is long. so not only to catch the day.
My wife and I have made a habit in the evening to stroll in Saintes-Maries and choose a restaurant without having read any reviews so that we have no expectations. le mistral was different from other restaurants because the waitress saw us. studying the menu outside, and came with a smile to tell us about their dishes and different menus they had. the menus we took (menu camarguais, a derée, a main dish and desert 15,90 eur; menu express, either a derée and a main dish, or a main dish and a desert for 12,90 eur) were quite cheap and of good value compared to most restaurants in stes. maries. I had the mixed seafood plate (oysters, other dishes and garnel) and it was pretty good. I didn't eat some of the dishes because it didn't seem cleaned, although they were very fresh. for the main dish I wanted the entrecôte, but they had no more (it was very late in the evening) so the waitress offered me a bullensteak at no price brand-up. for the desert she offered us something that was not on the menu: a fondant au chocolat, for which you should simply die. we liked it there very much and came back the next night. After reading the reviews on this page, I can understand some of the negative reviews. their machine for payment with credit cards or debit cards was actually broken when we were there. this was not our success, as we always pay in cash, but we have witnessed that this caused a moment of confusion at another table. they should either repair the machine or display that they do not accept cards or controls. in my opinion, however, the ratio of the price and what they get, as well as the very excellent service is more than for the problems we saw (but not we met).
I really do not understand how this place got 5 out of 5 stars so far... We decided not to be put off by the very touristy feel and trust the reviews but we were wrong. There is no atmosphere, no decoration worth speaking of...and the waitress was not unfriendly but not friendly either. We both had the mussels and we were disappointed. The portions were small and not very tasty. The homemade chips were nice though. As desert I had the mousse au chocolate and my husband the flan caramel. They tasted alright but could have got them in any cantine. If you want a cheap fast average lunch this place is ok, but if you just want a tiny bit more stay away from it and go other places (check my other reviews for this town)
Cata service... children served last... same for a fries dish. odd tables also complained 1h30 d wait for uun resto away from being complete. mistakes in the note no paper or liquid hand d the wc..... so personal not to the point...damage because dishes not so bad.
