Zuzulua - Saint-Pée-sur-Nivelle

From the outside and the restaurant we thought it would be lovely BUT with windows into the kitchen watched our food being cooked and tasted with fingers and then seasoned with same finger for it to arrive lukewarm and tasteless.

Went today for lunch, nice food, very good trout, service very nice. Price a trifle too high for the are area considering it borders with spain. Nevertheless a good place to eat. I will return living in the area. Hendrix Biarritz.

Friendly welcome and free sangria's as we were sent by the hotel in the neighbourhood, dog friendly as well! Starters : Basque bruschetta was soggy and jamon serrano was rather dry. Axoa (basque specialty) was tasteless and the gambas à la plancha were not cooked properly (an open kitchen gives you insights on how things are prepared).
