Bidra med feedbackThis was my first and last visit to this restaurant. When we walked in, the atmosphere seemed promising as we were trying out a new place before a Saints game. We decided to sit on the patio and enjoy the outdoor area. We ordered beer and two items to share - fish tacos and 16 wings. We are big fans of fish tacos and have them frequently, so we were extremely disappointed with the ones served here. For $16, we received two flour tortillas, some slaw, and a very small piece of fried cod. It was so small that I considered sending it back for more protein, but our server never came back to check on us after delivering our food. Additionally, there were no water refills throughout our meal. On the other hand, the wings were delicious - crispy and well-seasoned. We usually tip generously, but this time we adjusted our tip based on the level of service we received, hoping that it would encourage them to improve in the future.
After attending a baseball game at CHS, we decided to try out this restaurant and I was unsure of what to order. I started with the Little Nikki's Caramel Banana Egg Rolls, which were a delicious and well-balanced dessert. It can be tricky to execute banana desserts well, but they did a great job here. The banana added a nice balance and tied everything together perfectly. The real star of the show, however, was the pizza. I had never heard of this place being recommended for pizza before, but it ranked close to some of my favorite spots in the city after trying it. Visually, the pizza looked impressive when it arrived. The sauce had great flavors, and they used high-quality cheese that was tasty. The pizza seemed to be wood-fired, judging by its appearance and the crispy bottom. It was incredibly thin and crunchy, yet still held its shape. I was really impressed by the quality of the pizza, and I would definitely eat here again if I was in the area. The pizza was cut a bit oddly, but the taste more than made up for it.
The food at this restaurant is amazing and I really enjoyed sitting on the patio. It was also very affordable. I tried the Prime Rib Saturday special and it was absolutely delicious, served with grilled asparagus and new potatoes (although they were a bit undercooked). The wedge salads were some of the best I've ever had, and I also tried the pulled pork pizza and chicken sandwich. Overall, a great dining experience.
Brian the bartender took my order and Quentin and Rachael in the kitchen made sure I had an extra crispy New York City-style pizza. They did an amazing job. I highly recommend this place for families and anyone looking for delicious food and drinks paired with excellent customer service. The locals who frequent this restaurant make it clear that Dark Horse is a favorite in the community.
Pleasantly surprised. We were in the area and decided to try Dark Horse for dinner. The Mac and cheese was creamy plus the added French fried onions was a great touch. I got the Bourbon bbq wings and ranch dry rub wings. They were both good. (Surprisingly the bleu cheese dip was better than the ranch). My wife got the pulled pork. She liked it but the fries were really good and crispy. Our server Randie was helpful, courteous and always wore a bright smile. Would recommend.
