Bidra med feedbackThe good location of restaurant is really attractive for guests! Perfect view on the sea, but tan-catchers from the hotel don 't deliver appetite. (For dinner they open a big saloon. The meal was good, especially catch of the day . There is shortage of good customer service in lunch time, but very democratic price.
1 star Michelin a gastronomic restaurant in the Grand Hôtel St. Jean Cap Ferrat, located by the pool with a view of the sea below. If you happen to get to the peninsula of Saint Jean Cap Ferrat, then do not deny yourself the pleasure to visit this ship of Mediterranean gastronomy. Every day the chef Georges Sang up sails to give his guests the opportunity to go on a regular culinary journey. La Voile d'Or has been positioned for many years as one of the leading gastronomic restaurants in the region. Here you can experience all the delicious aromas of Provence cuisine, as well as enjoy wines from this area. Enjoying glasses of wine on the terrace or in the bar, to the sounds of the piano you will meet the rays of the setting sun and will feel all the charm of the Côte d'Azur.
Food aswell as setting was great. The menu was very fairly priced, but we chose a la carte. And it was not cheap but also fair compared to thehigh quality. The truffle salad and apple carpaccio was with a generously amount of fresh truffle. The roastbiff was tender and the truffle mash perfectly "spiced". Cheeses was also generously served. The advice on wines was good. Service overall of high standard. And sitting at the terressa overlooking the port and the mountains made a memorable time. Enjoy!

Of course, the restaurant is an "incontournable " in St Jean and deserves its fame, but... for me and my wife "La voile d'or" is also a place to go where - after having closed shop - we can cool down with a glass of champagne (the house champagne does not leave you wanting for more renowned label: it's excellent), decide if we want to move on to a "fully-fledged" dinner or go for any of the lighter, but tasty, options from the bar menu (a suggestion: omelettes are served in different styles and are just a perfect match with champagne). All this, and especially at sunset, in a rarefied atmosphere, pampered by the personnel and the careful but unobtrusive service. Prices are at the level you can expect for a place of that standing and class, but are far away from the illogical charges made elsewhere in the region by other (less charming) places, apparently catering only to millionaires and oligarchs... And, what is important to us, whatever you had and you paid, you never leave disgruntled. That is why we keep on coming back, when we need a moment of quiet and elegant luxury...
