Bidra med feedbackGot a set of six macarons from the shop itself, not the public market counter. Each one was INCREDIBLE and actually tasted like what they said, as compared to some other macarons which just taste like sugar. My only complaint is that the selection of macarons at the shop was more limited than the selection at the public market.
Husband and I went to a macaron making course back in October. Had an absolute blast, this was the highlight of our trip to Vancouver.I had a million questions as I have never quite mastered the macaron baking technique at home. Every question was answered thoroughly and thoughtfully. Yann was absolutely fantastic! An open book, he told us all of his secrets and encouraged us to reach out in the future if we had any questions. I believe it was his welcoming and open attitude that made the course enjoyable. Josh was helping out and closed out the day with us. He was incredible and we enjoyed him immensely. My son was jealous we went without him, we will be back with the whole family in the future. I made the Gin Fizz and my husband made the Matcha. We all shared our cookies with the rest of the class, which was awesome we had so many delicious flavours to sample. Favourites included cotton candy, bubble gum and the citrus. In the middle of the workshop we had some bubbly with savoury macarons. I was a little apprehensive to try them, but I was surprised how tasty they were (except for the bacon, that was not my jam .Yann made us all believe we could do it (and we did! . He really made us feel welcome. We really got into it and cannot recommend enough. All of our friends were jealous and we have multiple requests for cookies. We’re just about to start making Christmas macarons (let’s be honest, it’s going to be a straight up rainbow of cookies in here , and thanks to this workshop, I feel confident in doing that on my own now with my family. the aprons are SO cute and were not for sale at the time of our course. There were quite a few of us interested in purchasing an apron. If that option is ever available again, we would love to buy one!
I had so much fun here yesterday! You get to choose the flavour you want to make. We took home 83 macarons. Josh was a great instructor, was encouraging and could answer all our questions. I wouldn’t mind doing this workshop again.
I took the macaron making workshop. It wasn't cheap, but I think the value is def there. You each take home 30-40 macarons, get to try 3 macarons there along with a glass of wine/apple juice. 3 hrs of instructions and take home recipe. Good value, and highly recommend!
Not the best macaron. I have been to place that there macaron are much better. I went ladurée in Paris. I ate much more better one in Toronto, Montreal, New-York. guess it's the experience of making macaron that makes special.
