The Jungle Bird - Sacramento

The service was horrible. It felt like they count on the gimmick of the jungle theme decorations and drinks to mask mediocre food and crappu service. We placed an order for an appetizer and drinks when we sat down. 23 minutes later the appetizer arrived and still no sign of the drinks. About 5 min after that the drinks arrived, they were strong but well balanced. I ordered the loco moco, the patty was charred to the bitter point not enjoyable.

We had a great time! Food was excellent, drinks were strong, laughed all night. It was a lot of fun.

Everything was great except for the very annoying people we were sat next to.

When you walk in, Jungle Bird is completely immersive; the cabana bar, the stone wall, tropical birds and vines hanging from the ceiling. It’s exactly what you want from a funky tiki bar. We got the Pu Pu platter and the burger. The platter was aesthetically pleasing, but nothing jumped out as particularly flavorful. The burger was very disappointing; very much blah. A beef patty between two buns. The drinks are boozy and come in all kinds of fun cups with little umbrellas, fruit and flower garnishes chef’s kiss. I would definitely recommend going! Just eat before you get there.

The drinks were amazing!…The food was okay!..I didn’t care at all for the chicken wings they were soggy…the crab Rangoon was so good and so was the vegetable egg rolls I’d definitely visit again
