Bidra med feedbackWe made the mistake to invite two friends to hit the head that was bought on the " Fleisch Platter-Meal for four " Deal by Groupon. We needed a while to find the way to the place where we were greeted... by a cried lady behind the bar who didn't know what to do with our voucher I'm just visiting a friend she said. The lady owner appeared soon, showed us on our table and served us our complementary (purchased as part of the voucher) half pint drinks. It was very quiet and there was something missing... an atmosphere. We introduced ourselves a German beer cellar... bakery, jolly religious evening... this place was lifeless, entertaining, there were four other people drinking pale beer, but no one else has eaten!! We should have read the signs!! Then the oval silver plate with 8 thin pale German sausages came on it and two small DRY DRY DRY baked chicken breast!!!! We were laughed, or was it hysteria. We had to pick up the little chicken breast in two.... how so dry no one wanted her.... two small chicken breast between four of us......so unnecessary!!! Another silver plate came as we part through the first, this was stacked high with chips...frozen chips we think.... no taste at all. Terrible presentation, so inconspicuous and dry!!! I think they tried to make it look abundant on large plates, but with so little food on offer it looked pitiful. NOW in Groupon advert BBQ House advertised a meat plater loaded with pork chops, loads of different sausages, chicken and a variety of other meats.... they even mentioned how good their carving was....No, what we were given. They claimed it was a £70 for four! What a joke! We could only laugh how horrible and strange the place was. It seemed to be a meeting place for the whole family and all their smoking friends who actually (as other reviews claimed) spend most of the night in and out and out of the door .... Smoking and run huge dogs through the restaurant. You can only suspect that they have no back doorstep!. Our BBQ home experience was really bad our friend is a cook made when even more embarrassing. I guess you could argue that you don't pay for anything, half the amount will get half the quality and quantity. However, this was not our experience that we had some brilliant meals and offers with our Groupon Vouchers. The best deals were where the restaurant understands marketing and the groupon sales used to get people into their premises and then allows the vouchers to have a meal of your choice on their menu with the possibility to cover top when the bill exceeds the voucher value. In this way, they present their food and think of customers while raising new customers hopefully again and again. And so we bring friends and family. Such a shame! We'll never come back again, we should have complained, but the evening was bad enough without inserting a series into the procedure... we just agree with our feet and write a review! The evening cost us £8 per head for 2 thin sausages, terrible chips with half a warehouse. Our friends are still talking to us....but if you appreciate your friends and love German food surely NOT to eat in The BBQ House Malton....Scratch this one OFF YOUR LIST!!!
I had a group for this restaurant, I tried to book a table, but no one answered the phone, so we just arrived on Friday night. My partner and I don't live in Malton, so it was a planned trip for an evening... meal. When we arrived, we had to wait until the staff finished their private conversation in another language. Then they tendered us and we asked if we could eat there with our groupon. They said that if we had not booked, we cannot (and the restaurant was empty). You said they can't serve us food berries people come at 8:00 and they can't eat enough for them when they serve us?! Really? We thought they were kidding and laughing, but they weren't. I told the lady that I blew, but nobody answered and she said I couldn't have because she was there! Extremely rude as I said the truth! At some point they said yes and we sat down and we got another explanation from Beacuse that we had a group and had not booked. I was ready to go, but as we had already paid, we stayed at the meal that was okay and left. While we were waiting for our food, there was another couple who had drinks outside. They came in and asked to see the menu as they thought to eat there they got the same story we can serve you because we may not have enough food for the people who come at 8:00! shocking! The employees were more interested in their friends and smoking than accentuating themselves.
I had a Groupon coupon for four, so some friends took there on Saturday 20 July 2013. I had booked the table for 7.30 a.m., arrived early so we could have some beer first. We took our table, but we were on several...Occcasions regarding the ordering of our food, after all we were left alone until we decided to order the food. The ancestors my husband and friend had were fine, but something overpriced at £6.50 ever. Then our main three of the party had Schnitzel and one of the burgers. This came with bacon, which was cold and not very appetizing, we complained to the cook about it, but he seemed more concerned about it outside for a smoke!!!! and he didn't wash his hands on his return as we had the full view of the kitchen. Thank God we had a voucher if we did not find it ovderprice and overated
My friends and I had a pleasant meal with wine and beer at this restaurant. We were unsure how our experience would be based on previous reviews, but we were pleasantly surprised. We all tried different dishes that were flavorful and very satisfying. The decor of the restaurant tried to recreate a beer cellar, and while it was a bit rustic, it was clean and comfortable. While the food may not be gourmet, it was delicious and offered at a reasonable price. We will definitely be returning in the future.
I went to this restaurant one evening in April. I ordered a pulled pork sandwich, while my partner had some type of schnitzel. The food looked appetizing when it arrived, but unfortunately, the sandwich was ruined by an overwhelming amount of a terrible BBQ sauce that overpowered the flavor, and it was served on a low-quality bread roll. The schnitzel was average, nothing special. However, the chips were enjoyable. They ran out of coleslaw, which was disappointing as they should have anticipated the demand and made more fresh each day. The restaurant had a dingy and dirty atmosphere, with ashtrays outside that had not been emptied for days. The staff seemed more interested in chatting with regular customers and taking cigarette breaks rather than serving. I doubt this place will remain open for long. It's not worth a trip to visit. It might be okay for a change if you live nearby, but I wouldn't recommend going out of your way to dine here.
