Slappyz Family Diner - Russellville

I had a bacon bbq burger and fries and my buddy had wings. Wings were great, burger was AWESOME, but the fries were not good at all. I appreciate the “skin on, hand cut” thing, but they didn’t seem cooked all the way. They were limp and soggy. Maybe they’re supposed to double fry them and only fried them once? Either way, get the burger but absolutely 100% skip the fries.

Got the Friday special, giant chicken sandwich with cut chips and a drink for $11. Also got a slice of the German chocolate cake. The sandwich was really good. A big slice of chicken breast was juice and crisp.

We got in our food to go and it just wasn't as good as I remembered it to be before so that's about all I could say and there wasn't a lot of fish in the dinner plate which I was really surprised cuz that's not how it used to be either but it's just different than it was before it's been a lot of time there and it was always excellent but it's just not like it used to be!

Fried catfish was reasonably tasty but the sides were not good woefully overcooked and broccoli salad was half liquid. You now order and pickup at a front counter, so no table service. Worse, nothing but plastic utensils for an $11 lunch. Bottom line, not impressive, would not return.

The food for a small town. Is big city quality. And people are very nice. I recommend it.
