Bidra med feedbackWent to the Lux 2 restaurant whilst in Virgina Water. The restaurant itself is lovely, very clean. The staff were great and very welcoming. I have read some of the reviews people have left and I can only say they didn't go to the same restaurant as us. The food was amazing. Both my wife and I enjoyed the food so much, we ended up going back on our last night. The service was second to none and the food was piping hot when it was put on our table. I am glad we didn't rely on the reviews to decide where we went, because if we did we would have missed out on some fantastic food. If you are in Virginia Water and are looking for somewhere to eat, definitely give this place a go.
We ordered the Celebration Feast as a take away as we usually go out to a restaurant for my wifes birthday, but lockdown had changed that. The food was much more chilli loaded than normal and not really cooked as well as in the past, the vegetables were tasteless and I did advise that she was allergic to mushrooms and broccoli. Guess what was included with the vegetables. We paid full price for the meal but there was no desert included. I'm not sure about the VAT rate applied under current legislation but I believe that we paid the full 20% rate. Not sure that we will go back again.
Duck CARCUS (or in their words crispy duck), chow mein and sides were absolutely horrible. Upon returning our takeaway (yes it was that bad), Lux claimed that it was normal for the crispy duck to be served like this. Never in my life have I seen ‘crispy duck’ served as a burnt piece of backbone. Appalling. Avoid at all costs!
First time visit at Lux ll and the food was okay. Now we went during the difficult Covid regulation times so I understand how hard it is for catering operations. The staff were friendly although they seemed rushed, there were not many tables occupied but they seemed to be doing a good trade in takeaway/collections. The menu was not vast but offered sufficient choice, but the wine list was restricted and expensive it offered limited choice particularly for Rose wines. In honesty our food was actually good, we had 2 Soups, Grilled dumplings, Sizzling Steak and two different Seafood dishes all of which were tasty and reasonable value. The down side was that the atmosphere was not existent, the lighting too bright and the ambient music barely on, we could clearly near the full conversation of the next socially distanced table. Also I did not think the toilet area was a clean as it should be in the current situation, after all the place had not been busy, so we are unlikely to return.
Very much a shadow of its former self. We ordered a menu and ddi not enjoy it at all. We left almost everything and there was no query as to why suggesting they are used to that. It was a Friday night at c 9pm and it was almost empty. That would not have been the case in the past.
