The service at this restaurant is satisfactory, but there is a problem with the freshness of the food. While they claim to offer fresh fish, it often seems like it has been sitting in the display for too long. I understand the desire to minimize waste, but customers expect to receive fresh food when they pay for it. If the food has been on display for a while, it would be appreciated if the cost was reduced and the customer informed of the reason. This way, customers can decide if they want the reduced option or if they prefer something fresh. I believe the food could be good when it is fresh, but unfortunately, I have not had that experience yet.
Our recent experience at the Fish Bar has been a tale of two halves. We had previously enjoyed excellent service, but our visit yesterday was marred by the actions of a young server. Appalled by her unhygienic practices, I brought it to the attention of a supervisor before leaving without my order or a refund. In this time of Covid, it was concerning to see the server touching her face and hair, which she then put in her mouth, all while handling food. The lack of food hygiene standards was disappointing, especially considering my wife's high-risk status. It's unfortunate that such importance was not placed on proper training for the staff.
Horrible, overcooked chips. We asked for 2 large portions of chips and the size of each was small. Very disappointing all round.
Delivery should have been 40 mins and a hour and a half later it turns up cold. The fish was meant to be large but it was more like a goldfish and it was hard and chewy. First and last time of going there..
